Thanksgiving Week

Eileen arrived Monday night and Mike arrived Tuesday morning. After Michael was finished studying, we met him to go on a walking tour of Gonzaga. It is such a beautiful campus, we are happy to take a walk around it whenever we get the chance.

Then we came home for a night of relaxation, talking, and Monopoly! Mike and Eileen worked us at Monopoly but we enjoyed it nonetheless.

On Wednesday morning, we woke up and headed out on a nice walk along the river. It was a little chilly, but still beautiful.

I enjoyed talking about life with Eileen while the boys hung back and talked politics and such.

After our walk, we had a wonderful french toast breakfast (thank you Eileen). That afternoon we headed out to Riverfront Park. It is a big park in downtown where the Spokane Falls flow right through the middle.

The 1974 World's Fair was held in Spokane- yep... that's right! At the time, it was the smallest city ever to host the World's Fair. Anyways, the fairgrounds became Riverfront park and some of the structures from it still remain. It also hosts the worlds largest "little red wagon" with a slide as the handle.

Eileen was the cutest little grandma to take Houston on his first ride down a slide.

Then daddy took him.

Houston LOVES being on daddy's shoulders, possibly his favorite thing in the world...

... and we found that both papa's have the perfect shoulders as well.

Then we headed shopping for our Thanksgiving Day Christmas the next day and then home for yummy taco soup to gear us up for Ticket to Ride. It was Houston's first time in the big boy part of the cart.
It was a WONDERFUL day.
